In response to Brian Cooke's comments today, a spokesperson for Ken Livingstone's campaign said:

'Brian Cooke was appointed by the London Assembly which has a clear majority of Ken Livingstone's opponents.  His statement in support of Boris Johnson is a clear breach of the rules of the London Transport Users' Committee  which state that the following rules apply to Chair and members of the committee: "Members should abstain from controversial party political activity."
